Love without an audienceFormer idol Shen Yao needs somewhere cheap, private and difficult to find.Using his legal name, Shen Ming, he accepts a three-month live-in job on Jiang He’s farm. He arrives with debt, too much luggage, the wrong shoes and no idea how to do the work.Jiang He is a reserved farmer with a severe developmental stutter. He does not recognise Shen Yao, does not ask for his past and does not mistake brightness for honesty.The farm begins as survival: food, lodging, privacy and time to continue anonymous music work at night. Slowly, it becomes the first place where Shen Yao is allowed to exist without performing.Format: Vertical-scroll webtoon

Status: Story planned; early adaptation and storyboarding underwayStory ArcShen Yao eventually returns to music, carrying the farm inside a song called Greenhouse Rain.Jiang He remains on the farm but begins choosing speech and action over protective silence.Their relationship must survive separation, public success and the practical reality of two lives that cannot remain in one place.The ending is not about never leaving.It is about knowing where—and to whom—you return.

Shen Yao, 22 · Former idol and singerShen Yao hides at the farm under his legal name, Shen Ming.He is bright, talkative and charming, but much of that brightness is armour. His former company sold staged queer intimacy while making real queerness unsafe. When he resisted, he was labelled difficult and left with debt, legal restrictions and a damaged reputation.His arc moves from performing to survive toward music, love and aliveness chosen for himself.
Jiang He, 29 · FarmerJiang He is practical, observant and quietly funny. He has a severe developmental stutter and has learned to treat silence as safety.He expresses care through food, preparation, work and attention, but struggles to ask for anything in return.His arc moves from waiting and withholding toward chosen speech, chosen action and allowing himself to be cared for.
Their RelationshipThe city taught Shen Yao that queerness was safe only as performance.The world taught Jiang He that speech made him vulnerable.They do not fix each other. They create a place where neither has to carry those wounds alone.

PROCESS AND AICREATIVE DEVELOPMENTEmotional continuity firstI begin each scene by asking:What changes between the characters?I track what each character wants, fears, misunderstands and carries into the next scene. This prevents relationships from resetting between chapters.For webtoon adaptation, every episode should contain:a clear visual hook
a relationship turn
an emotional consequence
a panel-friendly object or gesture
an ending beat that pulls the reader forward
From Story to PanelsI identify the emotional movement first, then translate it into action, framing, expression, silence and scroll timing.The goal is not to illustrate every sentence. It is to preserve what the scene changes.AI TransparencySome prose, written development and panel-script wording were created with generative AI assistance.I direct the characters, story structure, emotional arcs, continuity, revisions, adaptation and storyboards.AI-generated images are used as clearly labelled development references, not final commissioned artwork. Any final production use of AI would be discussed and agreed upon with the artist.
